CLASSIFICATION: 25 Hours per Week
DeIPL is a 501(c)3 that works with faith congregations to mitigate the impacts of climate change. Practically all religions/faiths understand the need to care for God’s creation and have some official statement on the harms associated with climate change. Our mission is to engage and mobilize the faith community to mitigate the impact of climate change on God’s creation.
The Executive Director will be expected to cultivate and maintain relationships with a diversity of faith communities, stakeholders, and policymakers, including other non-governmental organizations, national IPL, local, state, and federal government officials, faith leaders, community leaders, and other potential partners.
The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors (the President as a proxy) and is responsible for the overall management and day-to-day operation of the organization to ensure consistent achievement of its mission, vision, and strategic goals. This includes tracking, documentation and evaluation of outcomes and oversight of communications and financial viability. The ED works with partners in advocating for DeIPL priorities and interfaces with the national IPL organization and leverages resources of other environmental federations. "As there is no physical office, the Executive Director will be required to provide their own phone and office space.
- Active commitment to the organization’s mission
- Experience with non-profit boards, diverse faith communities, climate change/environmental/energy issues, fundraising, program development, project management, and advocacy are desirable.
- Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Mastery of the most common social media tools and basic understanding of social media marketing and promotional strategies.
Hours & Compensation:
This position will start at 25 hours/week. Salary for the part-time position is a monthly rate of $3,500 per month, which equals $42,000 annually, augmented by dividends based on execution of specific individual activities sponsored by the Delaware Sustainable Energy Utility.
